Dear Family and Friends,
My goal is to help create the first ever amputee Action Camp at the National Ability Center. This would be a week-long sleep away camp that would help kids that are amputees or paraplegic. One of my favorite things in the world is going to sleep away camp. I wanted to give this same opportunity to kids that may not otherwise experience it.
I really want to make this camp happen for these kids, but the cost of equipment, role models, counselors, and food to run a one-week camp can be a lot. That‘s why I need to raise a total of $20,000. This amount will subsidize the cost of camps, helping to bring joy to these kids through adaptive recreation.
I will be putting in a portion of the money myself, however, I’ll need the help of all my friends and family to make this goal. If I can manage to raise this amount soon, the first ever Action Camp could happen as soon as this summer. I also hope to continue working with the National Ability Center to make other camps possible.
Your donation will be 100% tax-deductible. You can use this for an on-line donation or make a donation over the phone (435-649-3991) or mail a check to the National Ability Center, PO BOX 682799, Park City, UT 84068 (just be sure to mark Action Camp on the check).
I know first hand what a difference the National Ability Center makes for people, because I am a volunteer there. I will be skiing with a child living with disabilities every Saturday this winter. I hope to help them learn to ski better, while giving them support and making them feel more comfortable on the mountain. I love to ski and I’m glad to help others learn to love to ski, too.
Thank you,
Jack
